Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store

Located next door to the gloriously restored El Capitan Theatre, Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store was a throwback to a classic soda fountain. The Shop was located in Hollywood, close to Grauman's (Mann's, TCL) Chinese Theatre and in the midst of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ice cream treats were plentiful and shopping opportunities available. Some of the store offerings were exclusive to the location which made it popular for collectors.You were also able to enter the store through the El Capitan for a special treat after a movie.

On our Adventures By Disney Backstage Magic tour, we were allowed to enter before official opening and treated to breakfast and private shopping.

 

 

The store was well themed and a popular stop for Disney fans, and featured the Disneyland Star right outside the front door.

The location is now a Ghiradelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, and still offers Disney merchandise and pin releases, so it's an interesting meld. Although I like Ghiradelli products, I miss the feel of the Disney styled shop and am glad I was able to visit and now be able to share this bit of Disney history.
