Adventures By Disney Disneyland & Southern California Escape

What is Adventures By Disney? Basically it's a guided travel group with Disney flair. That means everything is done with care and attention to detail, showcasing Disney's standard of impeccable service.  Trips are world wide and take place in exotic locales as well as in your own back yard.

You will have two Adventure Guides that take care of you from check in to departure, and along the way you'll meet those in the know to escort you and present specific sections of the trip.

Recently, Disney has rolled out what they are calling 'Escapes'. Instead of the usual 7 or more days trip, an Escape is generally a long weekend. Naturally this has a lower price tag and results in more jam packed days.

The focus of this article is the Disneyland and Southern California Escape. This 3 night package includes a stay at the premier on site hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.
If you are even mildly interested in Walt Disney and the history of the company and the parks, this trip is a must do.

Your adventure starts upon arrival, where you are picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel. You meet your Adventure Guides at this time and from here on out all you do is enjoy.
Day 1> Dinner is provided and you enjoy a special experience at Disneyland. You receive a 4 day Park Hopper ticket with the package, and don't be surprised if a Fast Pass or two magically appears on the app.
Day 2> Get ready for a busy day with an included Character Meal at Storytellers CafĂ©.  Then you're off on the comfy tour bus to Burbank for a tour of Walt Disney Studios. There's so much history here, so be sure to take it all in and have your camera at the ready. There will be places where pictures are not allowed, but there's plenty of areas where you can feel free to snap away.
Hungry again? It's a real treat to be able to have lunch at the Walt Disney Studios Commissary.\, and yes, there's time to shop as well.
Next up is a true highlight, as you are headed to Imagineering. An Imagineer guides you and has a multitude of fascinating stories to share. This access is a rare opportunity to see how the magic is made. Shoppers, never fear...time to shop at the exclusive Mickey's of Glendale is part of your time at Imagineering.

Always be ready for surprises on Adventures By Disney...you never know what might come next.
For dinner you'll head to the iconic restaurant, Tam O'Shanter. This restaurant was a favorite of Walt and his crew and you won't want to miss his special table and make out the images carved in the wood.

You may doze off on your trip back to Anaheim, but don't forget that Park Hopper ticket, so you may need to find some time to enjoy the park upon your return. Here's a tip...don't stay up too late.

Day 3> Early morning and you're off to Disneyland Park before it opens! There's plenty of time for empty park photos, then off you go for another Character Breakfast. You might enjoy a ride or two (lines? who has lines? not Adventures By Disney folks), and you'll then find yourself on a behind the scenes tour. You'll see and learn things no one else can experience.
Heading over to Disney California Adventure, you have lunch on your own, then embark on a behind the scenes tour here as well.  Wrapping up the evening will be a dinner or dessert (mine was scheduled for a dessert gathering but changed to dinner), and priority viewing of World of Color.
Day 4> It's over already? You'll be amazed at all that was packed into such a short time. Disney will take you to the airport, or if you've arranged a coinciding cruise, will take you to San Diego port.

This trip is just a small example of what all Adventures by Disney provides: amazing access, VIP treatment, attentive guides and knowledgeable guest guides, and surprises galore. You just cannot duplicate a trip like on your own. On most Adventures, children are welcome and find the entire experience enjoyable, because let's face it, Disney knows kids.

An Adventures By Disney is a can't miss vacation choice. Let's get you there. nancy@magicfeathermemories.com
